Be Aware Of

Flash Pictures Batteries Transferring Pictures
- Built in flashes on are just adequate at best. Be prepared to do a bunch of editing.
- Some cameras can accept external flashes, but most don’t.
- Flash locations on the camera are great for making red eyes – good thing we can edit the pix.
- Flash pictures eat batteries!
- Get more than one set. The batteries will die at the most critical time (Murphy’s Law).
- NiMH or Li Ion batteries for rechargeable. No NiCads
- I think using AA or AAA type batteries is a big plus – can use alkalines in a pinch (but they won’t last long), NiMH rechargables in these sizes are common.
- A fast (1 hr) charger is a great convenience!
- Make sure the charge automatically prevents overcharging.
- USB is much faster than serial.
- Get a card reader – you don’t have to rely on camera batteries (unless you have bought an AC adapter ($$)) and special software. The things just look like a removable drive.
