Uh Oh! No power! That's right, there was a power failure at the time of our meeting. It was too late to alert everyone, so when Ben, Herb, Steve and (later) Bernie arrived, we had ourselves a discussion group, hoping in the meantime that power would be restored (it never came on :-(. But, we were not totally out of business, either. "Always prepared" Steve had brought along his laptop and could demo many items under battery power. Below is his write-up of what he had to share. It turned out to be a full program! Bravo, Steve!

WEB SIGHTINGS

Just in time for Standard Time is WhatTimeIsIt.com. This simple, useful
site updates itself every minute. You can set default time zone and
WhatTimeIsIt will remember it (uses a cookie). You can also select and
bookmark additional time zone(s). The site contains links to other
time-related sites including the versatile www.timeanddate.com reviewed
at a previous SIG. Check your clock at <http://www.whattimeisit.com/>!

Halloween Web sightings included a 1920 Press Democrat front page with
a photo <http://tinyurl.com/28k4> depicting a lynching in Santa Rosa--
gave me the willies. On the lighter side were some personalized
cartoons from CartoonLink.com <http://tinyurl.com/28k5> Maybe I'll buy
the book... nah!

Since we had no Internet connection, we could not visit LEGODEATH, A
Museum of Horrors <http://www.legodeath.com/>. I was disappointed.
After receiving a couple of suggestions that I visit the page, I found
that my super-slow dial-up connection is not up to the task. I am
intrigued by the title--I always liked Legos.

Las Ketchup

Especial: Las Ketchup - Las Ketchup are Pilar, Lola, and Lucia Munoz,
a singing trio of sisters from Cordoba, Spain. The band's weird name
comes from their strong musical pedigree. The three sisters are
daughters of famous flamenco guitarist Tomate. Thus, the name Las
Ketchup, and the album title Hijas del Tomate, or "daughters of
Tomate."

Their single, "Asereje" is a huge summer hit in Spain and across the
world, especially in Latin America. "Asereje" has hit the top five in
most Spanish-speaking countries, and their album is already platinum
in Spain. (Asereje means hippy in Spanish.)

We "caught up" with the sisters at the Venezuelan Lycos site
<http://www.terra.com.ve/especiales/lasketchup/>. The page prominently
features Heinz 57 Ketchup along with the music, videos, and photos of
Hijas del Tomate. We also listened to Asereje (.mp3). Will it be the
next Macarena?

Yes we had software. Here is the information I noted about each
program as I downloaded it. These are "fresh" so all or most of the
links should be valid. If you encounter a problem with a download,

Disk Space Pro v1.4
for Windows 9x/NT4/2000

Disk Space Pro is a program for showing how much disk space is free on
each of your disk drives, as well as the total capacity of each disk and
the percentage of free disk space there is for each disk.

It also shows the total capacity, free disk space and percentage of free
disk space for all your disk drives combined.

Supports checking:

    * Removable Drives
    * Network Drives
    * RAM Drives

You can configure which of the above types of drive you want Disk Space
Pro to show.

You can also configure Disk Space Pro to draw grid lines in the list
control to make the items easier to distinguish, and there is an option

Color code Windows folders. Author's description: "Rainbow Folders
(RF) is an easy to use program, which allows you to change color of
the icon representing chosen folder to any color you like. What for?
Mainly to boost yours computer usage speed & skills. When you're
exploring directory which contains lots of subdirectories in Windows
Explorer you can easily commit a mistake, e.g. by clicking the
folder's icon which have similar name to the one you really wanted to
go. When the folders will be marked with the colors of your desire you
won't make any mistake and after some time you'll be clicking the
right folders by the impulse. For example you can use RF to mark
subdirectory TEMP inside C:\WINDOWS\. Then after going to the system
dir you won't be searching the TEMP dir on the whole screen, but at
the start you will click e.g. the eye attacking bloody red folder.
And now the best part: you can colorize unlimited number of folders -
each into a different color. So you can e.g. colorize to red all
important folders, then colorize all frequently visited folders to
green etc. Also the effect of colorizing folders is not only visible
in Explorer but in whole system, so also in any directory selection

an extra warning when someone will be trying to delete colorized
